Meet the Team Behind ABC Specialtees

ABC Specialtees has been woman-owned and family-operated since 1995. That is not a tagline we added later; it is just what we have always been.

We are a small team, and we think that is one of our biggest advantages. When you call us, you talk to someone who actually knows your account. When you have a problem, it gets solved by the same person who took your original order. There is no ticketing system, no escalation queue, and no call center. Just people who know promotional products and care about getting your order right.

Barbara and Stu: How It All Started

ABC Specialtees did not begin as a promotional products company.

In the early 1990s, Barbara and her husband Stu lent money to a business friend who ultimately could not pay it back. Rather than walk away from the loss, Barbara stepped in and took over the business, which at the time was a glass company. She had no background in the industry, no playbook, and no guarantee it would work.

What she had was a strong work ethic and a sharp instinct for business.

The company evolved, the industry shifted, and Barbara recognized an opportunity in promotional products. By 1995, ABC Specialtees was officially established as a promotional products company. Even the name was strategic: she chose it specifically to secure first-position placement in Yellow Pages directories, because in the early days of the business, that kind of visibility mattered.

That same resourcefulness and attention to competitive positioning is still part of how we operate today.

Debbie Randall: Office Manager

Debbie is Barbara's daughter and joined the business in 2001 after relocating from Georgia. She has been running day-to-day operations ever since, and if you have ever called the office, there is a good chance you have already spoken with her.

Debbie's approach to customer service is straightforward: she takes every project seriously and works through the details until the outcome is right.

In her own words: "Customer interaction is my favorite part of my job. When a customer calls and says they have a project, I get excited."

That is not a company talking point. That is just who she is. If you want to talk through a project, ask to speak with Deb.

Rob Sheldon: President

Rob leads the business and brings decades of experience in promotional products and branded merchandise to every client relationship. He is directly involved in client accounts and available for consultations on larger projects, company store setups, and trade show marketing programs.

If your project involves a complex fulfillment need or a multi-location solution, Rob is the right person to talk to first.

Certified Women's Business Enterprise

ABC Specialtees is a certified Women's Business Enterprise. For organizations with supplier diversity requirements or a commitment to sourcing from women-owned businesses, we can provide documentation of our certification upon request.

We are also listed in the Blue Book Construction Network and have served clients across New England in corporate, healthcare, education, safety, and nonprofit sectors for nearly three decades.

A Note on How We Work

We are small enough to give every client personal attention and experienced enough to handle accounts of any size. Our client list ranges from single-location family businesses to national corporations and military units.

What does not change regardless of order size is the level of care we put in. We check artwork before production. We match colors to Pantone specifications. We inspect orders before they ship. And if something is not right, we make it right.

Want to talk to a real person about your project? Call us at 781-447-1532 or email info@abcspecialtees.com. Ask for Deb or Rob.
